Cetin Karakus is the Global Head of Quantitative and Analytical Solutions for BP.

Cetin has over two decades of experience in designing and leading the development of large-scale, mission-critical, data intensive systems.

Though Cetin started his professional career first in developing manufacturing planning & optimization systems and then building carrier-grade voice-over-IP systems, he later moved into the financial engineering field, working on complex derivatives pricing, hedging and risk management systems for global investment banks and trading houses. He is currently working in the energy sector, leading the development of cutting-edge trading analytics and derivatives risk technology for global energy markets.

Cetin has a degree in Electrical & Electronics engineering and enjoys tinkering with a wide variety of intellectual curiosities when he is not busy with the creative and very demanding aspects of designing complex software systems.
