Elon Musk and the Future of Public Transportation

The Boring Company, another Elon Musk-founded venture, has recently reported that the construction of its underground transit system linking Chicago and O’Hare International Airport is expected to commence in about three to four months.

The underground transportation system will utilize Tesla pod systems that can hold up to 16 passengers and travel up to 150 miles per hour.

These high speeds will cut travel times drastically, and commuting will become more efficient than ever before.

Test runs conducted in California have already proven the technology’s capabilities, and CEO Elon Musk fully backs the engineering strategies involved. Musk claims that the strategies are not as complex as the techniques used in SpaceX or Tesla.

Musk also justifies the safety of these vehicles over traditional automobiles due to the wide range of manually caused accidents. However the death rate from automobile accidents has been falling for decades.

While further testing and administrative authorizations must still be exercised and approved, especially for possible security pre-clearance procedures, Musk hopes that transit operations will be available to the public in no more than three years.
