Oxford University Launches First Algorithmic Trading Course!
Oxford is launching the first course of its kind, a six week intro course to algorithmic trading. Algorithmic trading or simply algo trading makes use of high-powered computers to make trading decisions. Algorithms spot changes and trends across different markets by analyzing huge amounts of data far faster than humans. Quant hedge funds have been using algorithms to drive their investment decisions for years and the growing popularity is now influencing banks and asset managers to also implement algo trading models. Professor Nir Vulkan, who will teach the course, has worked with algo trading models at hedge fund for 15 years says that algo trading is relevant now more than ever because of its gaining momentum and increased popularity, while artificial intelligence and machine learning is getting better by the day.
