The MeerKat Telescope of South Africa Illuminated 'Our' Black Hole
The Black Hole lies at the center of our Milky Way, which is the galaxy that contains our solar system. The MeerKat telescope was built with about $330 million of funding and is now one of the most powerful telescopes on the planet. The Milky Way is 25,000 light years from earth.
