Spotify, Move Over!
Move over Spotify – time to make room for Apple Music. Historically Spotify has dominated the music streaming industry, boasting over 70 million paid users.
However, according to Digital Music News, Apple Music has now surpassed Spotify’s active user count. At this time last year, Spotify subscribers in the U.S. outnumbered Apple subscribers by about 4 million.
Nevertheless, Apple’s 5% monthly growth rate has put them ahead of Spotify, which has only been experiencing around 2% monthly growth. Apple’s faster growth rate can be attributed to pushing its services on users of its devices, according to the Financial Times.
