Tesla Tent
In order to meet promised Q2 production numbers, Tesla Inc. has constructed a temporary tent outside their Fremont, California factory. Spanning the size of two football fields, this tent was constructed with ‘minimal resources’ and contains an assembly line to help production of all-wheel drive variants of the Model 3.
With this added production, Tesla is looking to manufacture 5,000 Model 3 sedans a week. It is not clear how long this operation will remain in effect, but Musk has suggested that it may stick around for a while. Wall Street analysts remain skeptical of Musk’s ability to hit the projected 5,000 units per week mark, but that hasn’t stopped the stock from being one of the top winners in the market so far in 2018.
